He told her to find a new husband and a happier life. But she already had. She found a new identity as a Beloved Child of the Heavenly Father. She took her place in His church, the Bride of Christ. And she searched the Scriptures diligently and prayed fervently for God’s will for her life. Many of her friends, even those in her church, told her it was ok to remarry. Ultimately, she came to the conclusion that her first marriage was a binding covenant until her death or the death of her husband. Though he moved on to marry someone else, she resolved to glorify Jesus by honoring her marriage covenant.
Maria has faced tremendous challenges as a single mother in Bogota, Columbia. Most recent of these was the loss of her job. As she entered into her third month without employment, the Lord miraculously connected her to STAY MARRIED. THE MOVEMENT. At first, she only asked for prayer to stay steady in her commitment to Jesus. She was unwilling to receive financial help. However, she eventually allowed STAY MARRIED. to send money to her in Bogota to help pay her bills. She said it was the answer to her prayers! She did not ask for any certain amount, but amazingly, the Lord provided to her approximately her salary for three months! Praise the Lord!
